It’s really a war between Joss Stone and her record label, EMI. Joss wants to be released from them. And she’s willing to pay 2 million for her freedom. But EMI won’t hear of any of it.

Now, EMI is getting back at Stone for asking such as a thing. They are delaying the release of her album from April to indefinitely. This angered the singer even more and she’s declaring war.

The first stage of the battle is at the O2 arena. Joss Stone plans to sing two of her new songs, which were supposed to be included in her yet-to-be released album. The songs were recorded 2 years ago. Joss Stone says she’s going to sing them anyway because they’re new and she loved them.

Joss’s message to EMI? They picked on the wrong girl.

Reports has it that Joss Stone would like to be freed of her EMI contract. And she’s will to pay the recording outfit 2 million pounds for her release. Stone said she wants out because none of the people she had talked with to sign a contract with the company aren’t there anymore.

Joss’ fourth album is supposed to be released last April. But because of issues, it was postponed for July. Now, a month before the scheduled launch, Joss would like to take her master tapes to another studio to have them produce it.

EMI is not willing to let Joss Stone go though. She’s one of their most bankable artists and the 2 million pounds payment isn’t enough. EMI plans to go legal in order to have Stone hand the master records over to them so that they can meet the July release of the album.
